Damaged Leather Seats

So the other day my wife left her year book in the back of my brand spanking new Camaro with all black leather interior and failed to take it out. I went out to the car this morning as I just had my lowjack installed and found the book and picked it up. The damn glossy letters have fused a green stained image and lettering onto my back seat leather that is not coming off. Help, does anyone know of a way to remove this shit or am I going to be forced to reappolster the entire back seat!?

Thanks for your help!

Wow, I am so sorry to hear that one, don't be too hard on her...

I would try some saddle soap or black leather shoe die (liquid with a little sponge at top). If you don't know what saddle soap is, it's a leather cleaning/treatment (a paste), you can either find it at any western sales shop where they sell Boots, Saddles, ect., if there isn't one in your area I am sure you can find it online. Hope it works out for you...

Is there a leather cleaner that anyone can recommend that will remove ink without damaging the leather? I've never run into this situation before. It's depressing, there is a giant green bird with the letters L M etched into my leather seat!

This happened to me with an owner's manual in another car. I used Lexol leather cleaner (NOT the conditioner for this stain), mixed it with some water, and worked up a lather with a plastic brush for clothing stains. Don't push too hard on the brush or it will scratch the leather. It came out after a lot of rinsing, repeating, and patience.

GM has a leather/vinyl cleaner on the shelf at the dealer. Use it 1st.

I'm thinking the back seat is actually vinyl, only the front has leather inserts. If so, a vinyl cleaner and conditioner might be more effective.

Take a leather cleaner, soak a paper towel with it, lay it on the "issue" and spray over the towel with more cleaner. Allow to saok in for 20-30 minutes and wipe up.

The "issue" transferred with heat to your leather..If above doesn't work, you may want to carefully apply heat to remove stain.

Thank you all for your advice. I'll start with the Leather/Vinyl cleaner from the GM Dealership and see if that works first and move on to the other solutions if that fails. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks!
