How To: Empty Your 2016 Camaro SS Mishimoto Catch Can & Results

Installing the Mishimoto catch can is easy, and even easier is emptying it. This guide shows you that the catch actually works for the PCV side and how to empty it quickly.

Update:

It doesn't have to be Mishimoto, but a catch can is going to save you money down the line.

Thank you Sledge. I think you just sold me on the catch can. It is at least worth testing it out myself. When I took off my IM/TB, I didn't have ANY oil what so ever but maybe because it was all burnt off. It is worth me testing it for 1k miles and see how much it actually will collect.

Thanks for that. I went ahead and purchased one, just not sure if it will work with the extra support braces on the convertible. Waiting for the car!
Do you know anything about the drain kit option for that can?

They offer a connection at the bottom of the can and you can connect a line to it with a butterfly valve or something similar. So if you want a quick drain option you can do that, but will need to buy a few more parts.

Where did everyone buy their catch cans? I checked Phastek and they are not in stock. They also seem to have the cheapest price.

The $80 less was a promotion for the first set of catch cans. I guess the new prices is $260 now. I do not think waiting a few weeks is going to change that.

Thank you for showing it at 1k miles. Looks like we can go maybe 3 or 4k miles before it has to be emptied? I am just now approaching 1k miles since installed and may wait until 2k miles and check and show results. Unless someone beats me to it.

Yeah. I got the early bird price, so I didn't pay that much.

Poop! No catch can today. UPS still says it's on the truck to be delivered, but it's 8:50pm here. I don't think that'll happen. If it comes in tomorrow, I'll install it on Saturday, I suppose. I have an appointment tomorrow after work to get my hair-did!

OMG, it knew I was talking about it and it showed up ten minutes later at 9:00pm! UPS must be working overtime...
