COPO might have some competition.. Challenger Drag Pack

Interesting.. no mention on numbers.. just prelim.

http://www.mopar.com/dodge/challenger/mopar-drag-pak/

The next gen Drag Pak starts life as a production Challenger body. The body structure is modified for race use with some of the alterations being:
  • NHRA Approved Roll Cage
  • Aluminum Differential Case with 40 Spline Gun Drilled Axles
  • Light Front Cradle Made of Tubular Steel
  • Lightweight Racing Seats
  • Full Gauge Package
  • Frame Connectors
  • Composite Lightweight Hood
  • Available Graphics Package
You have two options to power this beast. First, a naturally aspirated 426 all-aluminum race-prepped Gen III HEMI® mated to a 3-speed transmission with a Hurst shifter.
Or, a Mopar® first, a Supercharged 354 race-prepped Gen III HEMI® mated to a 3-speed transmission with a Hurst shifter.

Solid nine-inch rear axle with aluminum through-bolt third member, an anti-roll bar and double-adjustable race calibrated shocks and struts.

Equipped with custom Mopar® lightweight race wheels wrapped with Hoosier rubber featuring 28x4.5 inch front tires and fat 30x9 inch rear tires.

They've been doing Challenger Drag Paks for years. I think it was first available with a Viper V10

This might qualify as COPO competition as well.

Dodge has had a drag pack for quite a few years now, just a different set-up now from the first ones. It was a concept in 06 at the SEMA show. This is the history and timeline for the drag pack according to this website.

Actually..the COPO is late to the party on this one...

The Cobra Jets and DrakPaks have been doing battle for at least 5 years now.

The DragPak's have run 5.7's, 6.1's and 6.4's. The V10 was an oddity but did run well.

Despite the COPO's and DragPak's being around...the Cobra Jets are still the big one to beat.
