The Prodigal Son
When I was a young kid, my dad had a subscription to Car & Driver magazine. I became passionate about cars, as every month I eagerly awaited the new issue & to this day, I see certain automobiles as works of art due to their lines, shapes & angles.
In 1982, at the age of 10, I went with my dad, grandfather & uncle to a Chevy dealership, because my uncle was deciding between a Corvette vs 280ZX. There was a white Vette with red interior on the showroom floor. It had the most beautiful curves I'd ever seen - girls included (I was 10!). I stood in front of it, admiring the long bulging hood reaching back to the windshield & flared fenders. The price was just over $21K (it was the first year Vettes topped $20K) & I insisted that my uncle buy it. Unfortunately, he opted for the 280ZX. I've been a Chevy fan since then & dream of owning a Corvette. I haven't purchased one, because in addition to the cost of the car, there's maintenance & eventual repairs to consider. I've owned other vintage Chevy vehicles throughout the years, among them a '62 Fleetside, '74 Impala, '75 Monte Carlo (I love Monte Carlos!), etc. When the three modern muscle cars hit the streets, I felt they were each awesome in their own right, but I went with the Challenger, because I absolutely love the full blown retro treatment it got. Then I saw a Camaro 2SS Convertible Commemorative Edition sitting on a showroom floor... white with red interior. I was that kid again!!! This time, the right choice was made... |

CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.
 oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!
