First Year Jitters
What are everyone's thoughts on the usual thoughts that first year models are associated with problems. I'm debating between a challenger scat pack right now or the gen6 and was initially going to buy the challenger but with the difficulty it's been in finding one, waiting for the camaro has become a viable option now. But am a little worried about buying a first year model. I was planning on buying a later model when a z or 1le is developed and all the early model problems have been fixed. What are your guys thoughts on this first year stuff

I own a 2010 model and I haven't had any problems with so called "first year bugs"

Well technically the alpha platform and the powertrain is for the most part already in production. It also depends on how adept the assembly workers are with the manufacturing process. Considering they are already assembling the ATS and CTS, if the Camaro assembly integrates well into the assembly line it should go pretty smoothly. Being built on a Cadillac assembly line should also help keep assembly quality at a higher standard.

It doesn't affect my decision when purchasing a new car. If it's the first year it out don't matter to me. I had a 2010 camaro and had no problems with it

Brought my 2010 to the dealer for service yesterday and speaking to the service manager I said I would probably wait until 2017... He said " Yeah you might want to wait a year"

Well, 2010 cameras don't have near the techno crap the 2016 will have. I suggest waiting. These days? The drive trains outlast the vehicles. It's the electronics that go out before the car/truck does. That can get rather expensive.Notice how 90 models are rarely seen on the road. Eventually I'd imagine all vehicles will be contractual like cell phones. You can own it, but its cheaper to have it in a contract as whenever you feel like getting rid of it? Its no more than what you're paying now. That way you can always keep up with the Kardashians. LMAO!

It'll have a warranty... no worries at all.

So wait a whole year or couple of weeks to avoid the 'very early' 2016s - LOL I don't think it matters at all, it's all about luck. My 2010 was as solid as it could get. But my 2013 did have some 'jitters'! Availability of extra options on late models would be a more valid reason to wait.
