Spied: 2016 Chevrolet Cruze

2016 Chevy Cruze Spy Photos Reveal New Style
AutoGuide.com

May 6, 2015

Chevy’s compact car has adopted new looks from the recently redesigned Malibu, taking on a more aggressive, angular appearance. That’s not all that the Cruze will take from the Malibu either.

A new 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, which was introduced with the updated Malibu, is expected to be available with the 2016 Cruze. Significant weight loss is also expected for Chevy’s compact car, along with the addition of a new dual-clutch seven-speed transmission, although which engine it will be mated to remains a mystery. In the Malibu, the 1.5-liter turbo is paired with a six-speed auto box.

The weight loss is a good thing. I remember when it came out and thinking that 3000+ lbs for a FWD 4 cylinder compact was too much. I think my car thats one size up with a V6 has a curb weight of ~3100 lbs.

would love to see this as a two door. Would like a two door in the smaller size, but I know those days are gone forever.

I'm sure this is going to be another fantastic car from GM. Can't wait to see the interior and read about the final weight lost. But I'm a bit saddened by the softened look. Side and rear are alright, but the front (and overall) it just has that generic look to it.

That's what set the Cruze apart from the others for me. The current Cruze in an RS package is a very nice looking car. This one doesn't have that same appeal.

Don't hate it...but just looks like the others already out there.

Kinda like the new Corolla or civic. Don't care for it. Maybe it will grow on me

The headlight design looks to preview whats in store for the '16 Camaro lights that made it to the web. I like the look of the new cruze and yes it does depart from the current car's conservative handsome silhouette but I think it will be top seller.

Looking at it again, I think I can see the problem. Its face is all scrunched up. And its ass is sticking up a bit too much. Neither one is good on its own, but putting them together makes it seem worse.

I really like the exterior. It's ten times better than the Malibu to me.

Way to go chevy, 2 for 2 for next two fracking ugliest redesigned cars, Volt and now Cruze. Neither one will stand out in crowd and don't expect them fly off dealers. Smh!
