How can they say that when Kelly Blue Book lists Fair purchase price of a 2015 Z/28 in perfect condition as $73,792. and MSRP is $75,000? In a non perfect condition $71,295. In fact I found New one on a jersey lot for $71,000. Wigder Chevy for anyone interested.

Even the Pinto, in good shape would sell today for more than original price. That's just due to inflation adjustment. Is it a smart investment, absolutely not!

Those days are gone. Wages have not been keeping up with inflation and as a result, discretionary income is not there anymore which will (amongst other things) drop the demand for classic cars. Take a look at all the low mileage/museum quality 2002 SE Camaros out there - 25K all day long and that's 10K below what they sold for. 5th gen Camaros will be no different - anyone who puts them away hoping for a payday is going to lose big time.
