Ad campaign

A friend sent this to me this morning.

The following images are early ad copy of a soon to be launched Chevrolet media campaign. With G.M.’s current situation, the Chevrolet brand is in need of a major boost. To do this they have resurrected images from a golden age of American automobile history. Style superseded function, power and performance made sales, the SUV or Mini-van had yet to enter the market place and gas was cheap!

People bought cars because they produced a passionate response, not because of what they read in “Consumers Report”. These cars were the stuff of boyhood dreams.

This campaign really works for me; maybe it’s my age. Many of you who’s first memory of an automobile was riding in the back of mom’s mini-van may not appreciate or understand. Too bad; the future of Chevrolet may depend on it!
