New Member in Virginia Beach, VA (From Missouri)

Hey everybody,

I just purchased a 2010 2SS last week and am loving it! My 2000 Grand Am was my DD, but with 200k on the clock was only getting 22mpg.

Yes, the SS is my new DD and will rack up 100-120 miles a day from now until next summer when I can move closer to my new duty station.

The forum has been a great help already, as I tried to figured out how to stream music t the radio, and the widely asked question about fog lights not being fog lights lol.

Black on black, wheels are also dipped black and need a few areas touched up, so I have some more dip on the way.

Moonroof, M6, heated seats, lower 4-gauge package, Bluetooth, etc. Not sure if that makes it an RS as well ?

Have a few packages of parts on the way already. Redline D4, skip-shift eliminator, weathertech mats, some LED dome light replacements.

Anyway, it's good to be here and I look forward to learning from the YEARS of experience I am already noticing!

Other Vehicles:
-1996 Firehawk #0048 (My racecar, 383, etc.) Black on Black
-2008 2500HD CCLB 6" lift on 35's. "REAPER"

Old DD:

The options you are describing do not make it an RS.
The RS option package includes HID headlights, HUD (on 2011+ models), Red SS Badges.

Many of the options you are describing do make it a 2SS.

The LED upgrade is a super easy, cheap, and great upgrade. I would recommend replacing your trunk light, and Plate lights as well. Get rid of the crappy yelloy factory lights and replace them with clear, crisp, clean, white light or other color for mood accents.

It does have the HIDs, and I spent the last 1/2 hour trying to get through the black dip on the badges.... That was sprayed on too thin and just keeps breaking apart. Grrr.

I read through one of the threads on installing HUD, and I would love to have it, but that may be a mod saved for the Spring when it warms up again.

I appreciate the input and will order up the trunk and plate bulbs tonight. I like to support sponsors of forums, and bookmarked a thread on them a few days ago.

Welcome to the forum.
Enjoy your Camaro, make it yours and post up the pics!

If you have the HID's with halos, most likely a RS car. If the SS emblems are red underneath, it's an RS.

Check out the Hampton Roads area Camaro5 club. Several of the guys road race.

CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Op-
The HUD is a fairly intense install.
If you are like Ofer from Gen5DIY, and do them all the time it is probably pretty easy. I have been quoted around $900 just for the install.

The good news is that now you can get a color HUD instead of just the Green one

Yeah, it was intense just reading through the install

Still not sure on this whole RS or non-RS thing. Other welcome threads I am reading say if you have the HIDs w/ halos it has the RS package. I have those, but not a red SS emblem on the rear, and no emblem in the grille.

Head scratching continues, not that I am going to lose sleep on whether it has it or not.

Anyone know what the RPO code would be off-hand? I can grab a pic of my sticker tomorrow.
