2010 2SS in DFW

Hello all

Name's David, I'm currently in the DFW area. Picked up a 2010 2SS/RS. I'm the second owner. Got it for a steal mostly because the dealership didn't put much value on the car due to an engine replacement at 91k. (Long story short, has a brand new crate motor according to the other dealership that did the replacement.)

So far, muffler delete and short throw shifter is all that's done. I have ordered (yesterday) long tube headers, intake, 1" lowering springs, and a Diablo sport tuner. Cam will be next month. Haven't decided which yet. Shooting for as close to 500rwhp as possible.

I appreciate the welcome. I'm no stranger to builds on cars. The reason I bought this, actually, is because my sleeper project that I finally finished decided to spin a rod bearing.

It was ugly, I'm aware. It made 412whp and 352wtq. Car weighed approximately 2600lbs.

I've had plenty of other ACTUAL project cars. Don't want to shamelessly plug my vehicles from the past in here, but here's just a quick couple of photos.

The Camaro was a Z28, LT1, auto. Loved it.

David, CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands, girlfirends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Thanks! Ready for food rights, shit slinging fights, and whatever else comes. I'm on a few other forums so I'm familiar with the setting.

Thanks Oki-Jpn. I'm assuming you were either there or you are there now? I did three years with the Air Force in Oki. Now in Texas, deciding whether or not to re-enlist.

Welcome to the group and your goal of 500rwhp shouldn't be hard with the parts you have currently. Keep us posted on your progress.

I just sold my dead Corolla, I guess the cam won't have to wait too long at all. Speedtek quoted about $3000 for double valve springs and titanium retainers, cam of my choice, pushrods, timing chain, etc. Basically everything including labor.
