New 1st time Camaro owner.

Hello all,

My name is Mac. I am a fist time Camaro owner after wanting one for 20+ years. I am 40 and I have raised 3 children to adulthood and its time to have the vehicle I have always wanted. I just purchased a 1997 Camaro RS automatic, black, all power, all leather interior. Has 142,000 miles, 4 disc brakes, dual exhause(almost positive its factory), and aluminum 5 spoke factory rims. I got what I thought was a heck of a deal and the car has minimal issues, such as passenger window wo t close all the way, bad right back caliper(sticks) and rotor is shot. ABS inop light, and brake light are on and the heat shield rattles. Other than that it seems to run flawlesly with an immaculate interior. The self arming alarm works, emergency brake works, and the fog lights work. I have a feeling this car is equipped with the Y87 performance package because of the brakes, exhaust and rims but my RPO codes are faded. Any help figuribg this out would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance to all for advice and information.

Mac, CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands, girlfirends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.
