New Member from Maryland

Hello all, I currently do not own a Camaro:( but am working on buying one. I am by no means new to GM products but am rather a fanatic...lol. I have read on this forum a lot to research ideas I have, so I decided to join so I could get advice on some other ideas I have. I want to get a Victory Red SS/RS M6 convertible , preferably 2012-2013 (2011 would work too) because I don't like the 2014 styling changes. So I would be buying used. I have gone back and forth between buying other cars for a while (C5/C6 vette, 1st gen CTS-V, 4th gen Camaro or Trans Am, etc.) but have finally decided I am just going to wait and save up for my dream 5th gen. The first time I saw the silver concept car in person at an auto show in 2008, I was hooked. When the convertible came out it just made it that much better. So there really was no other way I would be happy at the end. So just wanted to say hi and hopefully I will be able to purchase a 5th gen soon!

why not wait until you see the 6th gen come out next year so you don't wish you had maybe later ?

Perhaps, I honestly probably won't have the money to buy a used one till the end of next summer. I am in college now so working is limited to over the summer. So if the 6th gen is really awesome I might just wait. My gut is I will still prefer the 5th gen though, I don't know why. Also, the prices I have seen currently, If I bought the car used, I would be saving almost $20k over what it was new....that is just more money towards the car in modifications haha

and well there is lots to learn and see so you can get an idea of what you want and don't want and maybe even you will see some of the 14' with enough like you I was not fond of the changes on the 14's but I saw mine 2SS/RS and I fell in love I walked into the dealer ship with my list (3 months in the making) found a 13' the only one in Texas that had everything I wanted ...and fit the mold and proclaimed several times I didn't like/want the 14 all I saw was the LS and the RS
They purposely drove me by the one and only 2SS on the lot and damn it was the one I signed the dotted line for! I couldn't be happier and I think that I would have been disappointed.

I think if the 2014 styling was all they had ever come out with, I would like it a lot more. Its not that I don't think it looks awesome, I just like the pre-facelift car more (especially the taillights, even though the 2014s are LED).

Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands, girlfirends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!
