New Camaro Owner (DUh, its Camaro5!)

Hey everyone.

Ive been reading up on this forum for a while before i got my 2014 Camaro, and helped me a lot in making up my mind. Before i go any further, Thanks to all of you that make this such a well put together forum!

So heres the goodies first, the pictures

So, she is an 2LS and while i still get that pit in my stomach because no V8, there are reasons i went for this instead of an 1SS. I tend to like barestock cars over higher options. Im "set in my ways". The reason why i got her was because my previous daily driver got wrecked bad. He was a 2004 Crown Vic Sport, one hell of a car. And while the insurance company totaled the car, I still have the title, and will fix him up...but after i get healed up.

Thats one of the reasons. I messed up my spinal cord something bad. I may need some nasty surgery, and i read that the SS is much stiffer than the LSs. So yeah, Im 6'4 need a comfy ride that MUST be rear wheel drive.

Now the new gal has some power, especially downshifting to get the reves higher up in the power band, but she lacks that grunt that any of my other cars (two other Continentals with 460s, LOOOOTS of torque, one is a burnout menace!)

Still i drive a lot, 70 miles per day commuting, and so far my average mileage is 24 and change, not bad for city driving during rush hour too (and by city, i mean Newark, its bad)

So, im here, saying hello, and hopefully by the time my lease is up, ill know what i will do...either keep her and just say oh well for the 6....or trade her in next year and take that hit, but get the SS or wait and see if the new 6th gen wont be too small...that would be an 8..and of course three years from now, can you spell 50th anniversary? lol

As a PS, while i keep her i may get some "mods". some not for go fast, but for making her purty... I may get the rally stripes, but somehow feel just the hood needs them (I have an 83 z/28 and it brings back that look to me) and yes, I AM A LOUVER MAN! hehe

Congrats on your car. Reminds me of my camaro, but mine is white and no longer a virgin. Enjoy yourself. I sure do.

CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Im kind of holding back before i really get attached (i dont sell my cars. The only time i got rid of any cars, were if they got stuck on different continents...long story, 3 of my babies were left behind)

But once i make up my mind if i keep her...(still no name, but shes stricking me as Scarlet so far. Shell have to decide if she likes it or not) Ill start doing stuff to her.

I promis it wont be purvy LOL...louvers, wheels, rally stripes, and spoiler are on my list...well see. So many cars that need attention though.

I think Im done with getting a new SS. I think im going to be too much of a nervous wreck parking at work. Aparently the blue handicapped hash marks means park on them and slam your door into my car. I hate aholes like that that think that if they dont care about their car that means nobody cares.

Plus I my spine might not like the harder ride the SS has, and I like the look of the 18inch wheels. Not just for potholes since its NY and NJ where pavement in 21st century is somewhat worse that at the begining of last century...smh

And hey, in 10 years who says I can drop some kind of V8 in Scarlet? It doesnt have to be the L99 or LS3...what it cant be a 572?
