Modern Day Muscle

Today I was thinking about the release of the Pontiac G8 GXP and how it's basically another muscle car entering the ring. That led me to think that we have a lot of cars today that can be considered as modern day muscle cars. Here's a list IMO of cars that can be considered modern muscle machines.

Chevrolet Camaro
Dodge Challenger
Dodge Charger
Ford Mustang*
Pontiac G8 GXP
BMW M3
Lexus IS-F
Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG
Audi RS4
Cadillac CTS-V
Jaguar XF-R

*Barely
If you think about it, all of these cars are muscle cars. Big engines, fast quarter miles, and tire smoke. They've also been modernized with good handling, braking, ect. What do you guys think?

there are no modern cars I will personnaly tag as muscle. I reserve that term for an era already past. These are all brilliant cars though without a doubt, I personally just dont like them being called muscle. Even when "modern day" is added it doesn't sit well with me. Especially the 4 door sedans you have in the list.

I know you think that but I don't, I gave my opinion on it which is pretty much what you asked for in your post.

well seriously to say mustang is BARELY a muscle is just idiotic.

yes the GTO is the original but the Mustang brought the muscle car to popularity

mmmmm read up on your history buddy, the onslaught of EVERY American Brand making a car to compete with the GTO brought on the popularity of the muscle car, including Chrysler dumping a monster motor into everything it could fit it into and make 50000 versions.

I agree the Mustang is not "barely" muscle, it was said tongue in cheek. This is a Camaro forum, if you want to be a mustang guy on here you need to develop a thicker skin.
