Mrs Tag's new HOE! (2012 LTZ)

After lots and lots of thought, the wife and I decided against purchasing a brand new 2015 Tahoe LTZ due to one single reason...price.

All decked out and outfitted the way we wanted, the LTZ was going to come out to roughly $62k. A large down payment was going to be make but there was the all new car payment that I quite frankly didn't want to have. Both current vehicles have been paid off for a while and that's how we like it.

So, we brain stormed....and came up with a perfect plan (which we couldn't have been happier with). Freaking GREAT plan...

...get a pre-owned, low mile, LTZ with everything we wanted, add some more, do this, do that to it... and save 20k.

I present the idea to Dana and she's off with it.

What did she want? She wanted the same LTZ she saw back in 2012 and fell in love with which was this gorgeous BLUE TOPAZ color. Off we were searching.

Dana found a 2012 LTZ in blue topaz with black interior, sun and sound package, tow package, retractable steps, and literally all the bells and whistles with only 20,800 miles...at a dealer just 4 1/2 hours away. I email them to say I'm interested. No answer. I email again...no bites...

I call them a few days later and get the news. It's been taken and sold at auction. Are you freaking kidding me............. I put Dana to work. She makes call after call and finds it. She tells them, "Mama wants the blue topaz LTZ....you'd better make mama happy!"

A few calls later and some wheelin' and dealin' and voila. We agree on a price and trade in price.

Lowlife (Glen) and I drive up there in the wife's Kia a couple weeks ago and get to the dealership. A short while later, the cashiers check is handed over, papers are signed, and we get the keys. Back to mama we go. And BOY is she happy.

A few days later, it goes to BJSS here in San Antonio (where Glen works) and get to work on it. The BBB gets a 2/3 drop, sways, 22" FR chrome wheels and Toyo tires, alignment, and weathertech floor mats. It's got an all new stance and holy shit does it look good. I took off all the badges except for the LTZ badges on the upper sides. We have a few other plans in mind but first we had to get her buffed, polished, and opti-coated. Off to Jays it went and two days later, it looked brand freaking new.

This thing is SWEET. Need to get some pix of it, but we are VERY happy... And here she is...the BBB (still need to come up with a real name for her, but right now...it's just the Big Blue Bitch...lol).

That looks great! The wife and I are having similar discussions about a 2015 Yukon Denali vs a used one.

I think half the families here are in the same boat. $60K all-in is just real steep. I think we are going to wait a year or so and try to get a used 2015 Yukon or Tahoe.

Yep. This is what it came down to. I can't justify it. And taking that 20k hit is ugh...harsh! I'm kind of planning on just keeping this one. It's really that bad ass. But, if the deal is right. I wouldn't mind stepping into a used 2015 Tahoe with just a few miles on it. We'll see. Our buds just did the same. But they want the Yukon like you.

Exactly!! And now Mama is HAPPY! She waited a long time for a new Tahoe and well, actually, both of us couldn't be happier. Very glad we made the decision.
