Nightmare turned Into Beautiful Dream

Hello Camaro5 Family. This Friday it will be exactly 1 week since I taken delivery of my 2014 ZL1 and I could not be happier. What started out as a Dream week for me going to finally order my new stingray (Lagoona Blue 3LT) and paying for it in cash. The dealers really are hesitant to allow you to test drive the new stingray unless you are really interested in buying. Well to the nightmare that turned into a dream, After hours of really going thru the stingray I come to the realization that it would be to tight and uncomfortable for anyone close to 6 feet tall and barely comfortable for the driver I could not bring myself to paying $80k for a dream car that I think would become comfortable.

So after soaking in my dream dying right before my eyes I turned my attention to the ZL1 (Traded in my 2012 45th Anniversary 2SS/RS). Although I loved the 45th it was an automatic and left me longing (although I am not knocking auto owners) but a few buddies of mines purchased 2 used 2010 & 2011 SS Camaro's 6 speed and I drove them and was immediately turned on, so much that I knew at that moment that I had to sell my 45th and get an SS stick…. well after the great GMS discount / USAA discount / Camaro loyalty Discount and Regional incentives I went a step further and splurged on my wife's dream come true THE 2014 CHEVY ZL1 and OMG words can not explain the way this car drives and handles. We have had a whether storm here in Atlanta for the past week and I am sitting @ 50 miles on her and I am so anxious to drive her this weekend when it is going to be 60-65 degrees. Attached is a picture of my new ZL! & old 45th SS

More Pics coming soon as I get her out this weekend….. And the Best thing about the dream is that I put $20k back in my pocket when I was purchasing the StingRay in cash also. The Camaro was the last car that my wife of 20 years said that she really wanted back in 2010, when I always had my heart set on the Grand Sport Corvette I purchased the 45th on an emotional buy when my wife passed of breast cancer before I purchased it. Thinking that my wife could see me riding in the car she loved from heaven, although the Corvette is another car I dreamed of I still am driving the car she loved just moving allot faster thanks to 580 ponies……… I miss you baby
Thank you Jesus!!

CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Wize choice ! I know what you mean. I'm 6'3" and when I went to order my SS I got into a Vette just to see if they were any bigger than what I remember ( when I first drove my buddy's brand new '67 the driver door opened when I released the clutch as my knee hit the little round door release knob )

They are still no bigger! Enjoy your 6 speed ...put in the $24 CAGS skip shift eliminator ASAP so you can shift all the gears when you want to.

Outstanding choice! I would love to upgrade to a ZL1 someday, but with kids heading off to college in a year, I think my window of opportunity is closing for a while. Keep posting pictures, cause some of us will be living through you

Welcome to Camaro5. Don't know if you've ever met any of the local group, but we get together occasionally, more in the spring, summer and fall. Please check out the thread below if you're interested in getting to know other Camaro owners. Congratulations on the new car and so sorry for your loss.
