Taking the car out of my truck.
Back in late 2010 I lowered my '93 C1500 almost 3/5. I had an '05 Silverado at the time on all terrains, so I figured why not have a 'sport truck'.
Well, after switching my Silverado for Camaros back in '12, I have had cars and a lowered truck. A lowered truck I have been driving through muddy fields, gravel roads, etc because it's my daily beater. It's lowered on springs all around and stiff shocks. Rides like a dump truck. 1.5" from the bump stops in the back. I think it's finally time to bring it back up. All terrain tires and original ride quality shocks. I'll leave my Hellwig front and rear swaybars in to keep handling in check. Thoughts? As of right now: ![]() And how it gets used... ![]() ![]() This picture is probably from 2009 or so. Those tires measure roughly 30" tall. Looking at going to 31x10.50s and leveling the front end up to match the rear. Previously it was on 30" tall tires and either on stock suspension, or leveled by bringing the rear 2" down. However the front tires liked to hit the fenders on hard dips. ![]() ![]() I have the tires picked out, the original rear leaf springs are at a friends house, I scrapped the front springs but those aren't hard to find anyway. I can sell the four tires (TONS of miles left on them) and the lowering kit to another kid with a dream somewhere around here.
