Entrancing Video of the worlds 2nd largest aquarium
Imagine standing in front of a wall of glass larger than an Imax screen. This tank can fit a mansion or two inside it. Manta rays and whale sharks galore....

It's amazing. Those viewing panes are held in by the water pressure too (I just saw some cable show on the building of this thing).

You know they said in that show I watched (natgeo channel I think?) but I can't remember.
Surprisingly, the number 1 biggest aquarium is the Georgia Aquarium. I don't know why that surprised me, but it did. Edit: "The Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium is the world's second largest aquarium and part of the Ocean Expo Park located in Motobu, Okinawa. The main tank holds 7,500-cubic meters (1,981,290 gallons) of water and features the world's largest acrylic glass panel, measuring 8.2 meters by 22.5 meters with a thickness of 60 centimeters. Whale sharks and manta rays are kept amongst many other fish and plant species in the main tank." Last edited by MrIcky; 07-22-2009 at 05:39 PM. |
