This made me laugh.......

Ok, KSP here uses Chargers, Caprices, and has Crown Vics still in the fleet of course. Anyways, i was driving home from work after dark and i see 2 cars coming up in the passing lane rather quickly. It was a KSP Caprice and Charger one behind the other booking it. Now for the funny part. About 30 seconds later I see another set of headlights bearing down on m. This time it was a KSP Crown Vic. Poor guy, looked like he was doing his best to catch up with the Charger and Caprice. I just had to LMAO for a few seconds on that one.

We use the old PI Crown Vics for training where I work. They are slow, but slow can be good when in a training situation. From the test data I have seen from the Michigan State Police tests, even the V6 models from all 3 manufacturers is faster then the outgoing Crown Vic. Interestingly, Chrysler recommends the V6 for most city agencies, and the Hemi only for pursuit units. WV State Police currently have all 3 makes in their fleet, and the WVU campus police have the Taurus SHO PI. Why they need that is beyond me! Maybe it's for the all wheel drive?

Why it's the oldest design of the 3 and basically needed significant updates to stay in service hence the Taurus. And the other 2 tanks weigh as much or more than a Crown Vic.

It was the last American car that was built on a frame and the cops loved it because it was safer to drive than the newer vehicles.

Safer to drive eh? Like the old 50's cars are 'safer' versus one from 2009 or so?
:hmm:

Not saying it doesn't happen to other cars. But this doesn't look good.

The cops loved it because if they wrecked it, they could just pull a body off another CVPI, straighten out the frame, and be good to go.
