Multimatic, the company, has been involved with Ford Racing for some time. The original Mustang FR500Cs circa 2005 were a Multimatic construct. It's probable the next-Gen Mustang FR500s will be, as well. http://www.multimatic.com/index.shtml

Multimatic is a division of Magna International Inc., one of the largest Tier suppliers to the auto industry and, through their Steyr division, fully capable of building-assembling vehicles (as they currently do under contract with many auto manufacturers). http://www.magnasteyr.com/capabiliti...-manufacturing

As pointed out above, Multimatic was key to the initial success of the current Mustang racing program in Grand Am, and has a long history with Ford in racing. They switched to the Aston is GS, but they were developing the Focus for the ST class, but it is my opnion that this watered down the effort as more attention seemed to be paid to the Aston program.

I for one am glad to hear that they will return to the Mustang program for the next gen cars. With teams like Roush and Multimatic, the new cars should be relatively competitive from the start, and maybe the sanctioning body will be over thier love affair with the Porsche people by then.

Multimatic also helped out with the new Z/28.

The new shocks are DSSV's from Multimatic which GM uses to tune the handling of the Z/28.
