Kilts

Those of you with Scottish, Welsh, or Irish blood, would you wear kilts? I don't mean daily, just now and then?

My midsection is too pronounced to effect a stylish look, so no wee kilt...

...now maybe a great kilt, but I'd want to wear a baldric and basket hilt with it.

Ok. So I'm kind of a mutt. I look white as a ghost in the winter, but there is a touch of African and Native American in my lineage way back somewhere. When my dad got sun he would turn red, I'm not talking about burning, I mean he looked Cherokee. And his mom looked like a light skinned old black woman.

But I have Welsh and Scottish dominating the rest of me. So I thought one day I would embrace my full heritage and wear a kilt with a Bob Marley t shirt.

Brother in Law wears one and actually pulls it off. He is a dedicated and accomplished runner and has actually worn the kilt in long distance affairs.

Have one and wear it. It is not something I wear every day, but on special occasions.

My name means 'battlefield' and I enjoy the scotch produced in the area of the town that bears my name and Blair castle is the seat of Clan Murray.

But I'm just as much Italian. And the kilt is a damn Sassenach invention anyway.

Me for the plaide

I've been looking online and the prices are all over the place from $500 to $85. The material seems to be the same so I guess its just name recognition for the higher price.
