Worlds Fastest 4-Cylinder is a GM Ecotec Engine

Thought this was really impressive, 4 banger Ecotec. Don't know the specifics of the engine mods, but it moves!!!!

ECOtecs are awesome engines. I have had 6 all together, 3 of them over 400hp. GM actually has a manual describing part by part how to achieve 300, 400, 600, 800, 1200, and 1600hp. GM did a great job with their ECOtec line.

Sounds like my outboard motor on my boat, however that was much faster.

It's the fastest production based 4 cyl but not "the" fastest 4cyl.

Agree.

I loved my LNF. My '07 Solstice GXP with the GMPP tune would give my '12 1SS a run for its money. Nearly the same power to weight. 290 bhp and 340 lb ft made that little car go..and it was a 2 liter. So many folks thought it was FWD for some reason. I'd ask why my rear tires were bald, lol. With the engine in straight and not transverse, it did not feel like you were driving a 4 cylinder at all. With the variable valve timing and variable vane turbo, the turbo lag was almost gone. And I drove a V8 with over 500 lb ft at low rpm for over 20 years. I really liked my GXP but a needed a car that was easier for elderly parents to enter and exit, so the Poncho had to go. The 1SS was my "sensible car" solution, lol
