USPS is pathetic! 27 days for delivery
I was told the LATEST arrival by ground from CA to SC was 8 days. I purchased an item from someone on this site and he sent it via Postal Service ground. I was quite upset but there was nothing I could do after-the-fact. If you see the picture below it was mailed on 8 Aug and Scheduled for delivery no later than 16 August. Very long story short both myself and the sender contacted the postal service customer service and a supervisor and they basically said they did not know where the item was And absolutely no way to tell when it would arrive. or two weeks later told us that it never left the facility but they could not find it. Then a week later it magically showed up on the East Coast and took several more days until delivery.
Look at the tracking below. LOL I only laugh now because I know I can pick the item out tomorrow but spending almost a month in the back of multiple vehicles I'm almost positive it is damaged in someway.

Yeah, they will NEVER get a dime of my money again. It's always something with them. There's A LOT more to the story but boring to read.
Bottom line is a poor system and customer service was a joke throughs the whole process. They "seemed" to be helping but at the end of the day all they said was we don't know where it is and if it goes past 30 days we could claim a loss. 2013 and it takes em almost a month to deliver 1 item, not even during any holiday season..... FAIL. I could SKATEBOARD an item from CA to SC FASTER

I've had good luck with them, however UPS screwed me out of $1000 and lost a package as well. I built a PC for a friend and shipped it with additional packaging that the case actually shipped in (with molded foam and the like). I packaged each component inside the steel and aluminum case and mailed it to him along with a small box of cables. The small box got there on time, a week later the PC came back to NC (it was up in NY), rerouted back to NY and he received it with one of the corners completely caved in. The case was cracked, the heatsink fell off, along with other issues. I called them, they looked at it and although I had 4" of packaging all of the way around the case, they found one small area where there was less than 4" (not even where the damage occurred) and said they wouldn't give me any money. I tried dealing with them for over a month and nothing...they wouldn't even refund shipping. So if you think USPS is bad....go ahead and try UPS.

We ship and receive 300-500 packages weekly with USPS via PayPal. Never once had a problem or report of late packages. I've had more problems with UPS with personal packages . One time they shipped a package to the wrong address, I never got it and they said after two weeks of "investigations" that I was at fault . Never did get it.

Waahhh, one package lost for a little while from the billions that they handle.
No one ever writes a diatribe about the power bill or credit card offer they and the other (million) people in their city receive on time every month.

For years we had this woman that had our route. The neighbors and I would often refer to it as "the mail roulette" since we never knew who's mail we'd find in our box. Great way to meet your neighbors though. Also had a sorting issue since a house two streets over had the same numbers so we'd often have to exchange mail. I'd get a bundle of mail rubber-banded with some of the other houses stuff in it. The old delivery guy we knew by name retired since his wife got ill, he knew about this and would always make sure the right house got the right mail. This woman that took his place could not have cared less. Every time I'd see her she'd be yakking away on her cell phone. I was waiting for some extremely time sensitive financial papers when my son was in college and feared they'd get put in the wrong box and re-sent not arriving in time. So I'm waiting for the mail and as soon as she left discovered 3 pieces for the other street. So I hopped on my bike and rode over to let her know and give them to her. She got all huffy and kept telling me "you don't have to bring it to me, just put it back in the the box!" I tried to point out to her that mail can be time sensitive and that it was HER JOB AND RESPONSIBILITY to see it gets in the proper mailbox (per postal laws you know) but she just kept at the "put it back in the box" crap.
So one day I'm out by the mailbox and the mail comes with this man driving. So I can't help but bring up a "mail roulette" conversation and mention that I was surprised she did as well as she did since she was always talking on her phone. Him: You've seen her talking on a cell phone while delivering your mail? Me: I can't remember ever seeing her NOT on her phone. Him: Well it is strictly against policy, she is not supposed to talk on her cell phone AT ALL while on her route. Me: Oh really? Next I mentioned the sorting problem and tell him I know it is the sorters because the wrong address letters would be in the rubber-banded bundle in my mailbox. Him: You get rubber-banded bundles of mail in you box? Me: Yeah all the time. Him: That is strictly against the rules, the mail is NEVER supposed to be put in the mailbox banded. The rubber-bands are supposed to be removed. Me: Oh really! Next thing he tells me is he's her supervisor and she's out on medical leave. So I say at least the "mail roulette" won't be running for a while and asked him how much longer we'd have to endure her "stellar service" when she returned. He said "Oh we've tried to get her to bid on another route, but she won't do it." Fortunately she wasn't on our route for much longer after she came back from leave. I guess the "mail roulette" game is happening in a different neighborhood now. |

Got my package today. and YES it's a part for my car. Box was significantly crushed on one end but was packaged VERY well inside by sender(per my request) so all is well but MAN they suck...25 days to get from CA to PA....and only 2 more business days to get from PA to SC. FYI, I'VE personally never ever had an issue with UPS. Always on time and definitely more professional when talking to customer service for tracking or whatever. You see UPS employees and 95% of them are bustin ASS to drop off/pick-up packages......USPS...NO WAY do they have the same sense of urgency.

I worked in the corporate of a truck line long time ago. We had a shipment that was going from Chicago to Palatine. We shipped it to Seattle - San Diego - Dallas - St Louis - Back to Chicago - to Palatine. So crap does happen.
We also lost furniture for Gorbachev one time. We kidded the drivers that when found they probably shouldn't talk too much around it since it was probably all bugged. |

After receiving quite a few packages, nothing beats DHL. Hong kong to Orange county, CA in 3 days. I prefer DHL, Fedex, and UPS over USPS. There is a reason they are in debt.
