Track Test: 2014 Corvette Stingray takes on 2013 SRT Viper Coupe

Edmunds.com takes both the Corvette Stingray and SRT Viper to the track for performance tests - 0-60 launches, quarter mile times, braking distances, slalom runs & skip pad ratings.

Nicceee, the C7 beats the Viper in everything except for 0-60, and for half the price.

I just wish that we could get some 0-60 times closer to 3.8

It's interesting that the Stingray is pitted against the SRT. Knowing GM, there's definitely going to be faster C7s.

The C7 looks so much more composed and controlled than the Viper. I'm surprised it didn't fair better in the 0-60 and 1/4.

This was a great review, but wondering why their 0-60 was so far from what all the other rags are seeing. 3.9 seems to be the norm at sea level.

That was just the base model Stingray. We haven't really heard any solid numbers in regards to a Z06 as of yet...................

Stingray still wouldnt of beat the viper in speed but really closer then that.. the guy didnt get a good time with it.. he got normal viper time but his 1ft rollout & dead stop 0-60 off by .3sec..
the 1/4mile the worse.. everyone else trapping 119mph they 113mph.. WTF??

the 0 to 60 was a little slower than one would think,if they had a auto instead of the 7 speed the time could of been 2 to 4 tenths better IMO... or maybe the guy driving could have done better
