Talking New Texas SS Owner - 1st time Chevy Owner

Picked up a new 2012 2SS last week with almost all the options (RS package, sunroof, leather, etc) and I absolutely love it. Although I grew up around fast muscle cars, I never owned one myself, a Chevy or even a car with a V8. My best car before this was a lifted Jeep (flat 6). I cannot believe how fast this is even with the automatic. I went in to the dealer to test drive a 2LT and although I liked it, the power was not what I had expected. Asked to drive a SS and the only one they had in stock was a 2012 2SS on the showroom floor. They pulled it out and let me drive and I was in love with the v8. This was a demo car with 5k and as I was walking out, the manager offered to sell it to me at the same price as the 2013 2LT I was looking at. Needless to say, I bought it and do not regret it for a minute.

This is a great forum and I've already picked up tips around the spare tire and the AFM. Can't wait to find out what else I can learn from the community.

Ordered a Range Technology AFM disabler which should be here tomorrow (can't wait) and am currently working on a solution for the spare. Plan on using a front rim and a 245/35/20 tire on it, so it will fit in the spare wheel location. I will likely use the solution BronxxBombers213 had. Also added the little round wide view mirror stick-ons. I know some of the purists here will disagree, but they work for me and make me feel more confident driving this beast. Plan on tinting it and eventually upgrading the pipes for a meaner sound.

Welcome to Camaro5. Be sure to let us know how that Ranger Disabler works out for you. ( I'm very interested in getting one myself)

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands, girlfirends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!
