2014 CTS-V gets a twin turbo V-6...humm

So I'm wondering is this motor might be offered in the 6th Gen Camaro?

This could be interesting...a 420 HP V-6

Look around the 1:20 mark in this Video.

It's a CTS Vsport. Not a CTS-V.

2014 CTS-V is just a carried-over Sigma-II car.

Yeah...I get that....the older chassis.

The LSA is still being offered as the top engine.

Would be cool though if this twin turbo V-6 could some day be in the Camaro as an option.

Why would they? An LT1 would be cheaper, more efficient, lighter, and more powerful. What would be the point in offering it?

I don't know what this facination is with twin turbo V-6's is. Its all they seem to talk about over on the Mustang forums too. And they arent any better on gas than the V-8 either

My guess would be Gas mileage....

It would help keep the fleets overall rating higher to meet the upcoming Cafe standards yet still have enough power to satisfy most people.

I would bet all the V-8's in the near future are going to subject to the gas guzzler tax.

LF3 FE isn't that much better than LT1. At least comparing CTS Vsport vs C7.

Better reason is displacement tax in overseas markets.

Well, the GT-R has a tt v6, and is a very capable car (the vr38 just propelled a street GT-R into the 7 second range, and another just hit 1760whp with more left in it), so maybe they just want one because the motor and tt setup has been proven able to be successful, but I would rather see a v8 in the v, 6gen camaro, etc.

The LF3 is supposed to get what, 17/25 in the new CTS? That car is roughly the same size & weight of the Camaro SS, but also gets an 8 speed transmission to help its overall efficiency. So its not really any more efficient than the outgoing LS3 V8 -maybe slightly, but not much. And if its no more efficient than the LS3, there isn't much of a chance for it to be more efficient than the LT1.

I do understand about the displacement tax overseas, but that doesn't mean they have to offer it here. Plenty of cars sold here have Euro-specific engine choices.

If that was the case it would be 3.0 L TT. 3.6 doesn't help overseas.
