Ridiculous! Too bad the people that bought those cars probably won't see a penny.

From what I gather it has affected all the automobile and supplier networks.
This is not the first story on this but what made this news was the fact of how easily they are now rolling over and admitting they done it and are willing to accept jail time. From what I believe is going to be revealed is that these guys are going to be part of a larger operation that exposes the total package as price fixed.

Interesting. Is that why a Chevy Cruze now costs more than an Impala did just 5 years ago?

I have to ask what crack your smoking for that to be true? 2009 Impalas started at 24k (http://buyersguide.caranddriver.com/...t-impala/price)

Cruzes start at 17k.

But you could actually buy the Impala for about 19-20k, and to get cruise control, an automatic, and the same level of interior amenities as a base Impala in a Cruze, you end up very near that, for a car with half the power and two size classes down.

Except your argument is still bollocks as it is stated quite clearly in my link BASE PRICE: $24,615 - $30,455 That means without options. So no, you could not get a new Impala for 19-20k.

If you are talking about buying used or negotiating prices your argument is still moot.
