Stock ZL1 diff bushings or Pfadt
I'm going to be swapping out my stock SS diff for a ZL1 diff that I have, my question is should i swap the stock ZL1 bushings for the Pfadt ones that i have in the stock SS one?

I would never put a stock bushing back into a car. If its out for something else it gets upgraded. Why do the same labor twice?

It would defintiely be a good time to swap in some good poly-urethane differential bushings while you have rear end down and easy to work on. Like Synner said if you can upgrade there is no reason to install the factory stuff. We offer a "street" (BK001) and a "pro" (BK029) poly-urethane differential bushings and we offer the solid delrin "race" differential bushings for all the guys making really big power and really racing their car. If there is anything we can help you out with let us know.

Aren't the OEM diff bushings vulcanized into the housing? Meaning they can't be re&re'd?

Thanks, I didn't know if the ZL1 guy do diff bushings or not. when it comes time I'll just swap the pfadt ones to the ZL1 diff.

They are in a metal sleeve and are a pain in the but to get out.

Right! That's why every diff bushing supplier wants you to cut/torch out the OE rubber ones.

Due to various complaints over noise, Pfadt discontinued their differential bushings (Most of the noise complaints were from improperly setup gear cases, that will resonate a lot more with the poly bushings)..
So we do recommend the BMR ones for everyone, good people ! Just installed a set two weeks ago on the road, so quite easy to install and good fitment. |

Thanks guys. I already have the pfadt ones in my ss diff, just trying to get an idea of the ZL1 guys do with their diff bushings.
