I've found consumer reports is somewhat inexperienced and even misinformed about car testing and reviewing. They should stick to home appliances and the like.

"Top car picks" doesn't necessarily mean best car out there, period. Consumer Reports is more of a "best bang for your buck" type of deal, in which case they are mostly spot on. Where else are you going to pay in the low to mid-20s for a sports car that is as light and performance-oriented as the BRZ/FRS? Or get standard AWD for only paying high teens to low 20s. Subaru is one hell of a value.

But, highlander as the best Midsize SUV? Honda CR-V best small? some I can see, the accord and BRZ, but most of the others offer LESS bang for the buck then much better competitors. This is why I LMAO when someone uses them as a reliable source on anything car related.

Yeah, unfortunately 200HP isn't nearly enough power to back up all the other performance components involved, but for only 25 grand it's still a bargain for a fun little car. The BRZ/FRS is still only in the very beginning of it's lifespan too. Eventually there will be an STi version that will have the power to back up the handling.

Yeah I agree. It's hit and miss. That's why when anyone buys a new car, they should definitely not just stick to one source for all their information.

BRZ isn't AWD. Both cars are RWD only.

you guys do realize that they have a cult following who knows absolutly nothing about what they purchase and rely on "bought" reviews right

I know you do but it is a shame you cannot pick up a review in a magazine and read it and take it for face value anymore.

I can't argue, I have a BRZ and sorry guys, it is a much better sports car than a Camaro. But then again, the Camaro is a much better muscle car. Two different animals.

Consumer Reports has always been useless at rating cars. They rely just enough on unvetted consumers who know less about their own cars than their dealers do...and their own lack of automotive knowledge.

Yeah.....I want their opinion....

Remember back when they were recommending Toyotas without actually testing or surveying them?

Doesn't bother me...more toilet paper than magazine...
