A question for sport bike riders....
I have been considering getting a bike, now I'm not a young dude anymore but I don't feel old and my reflexes are still fast and I've ridden Ninjas and other bikes the last being a ZX-7 that belonged to a friend and this was years ago,so I go to the dealer and I can't even sit flat footed on any of these new bikes what the He♫ happened why are the seat heights so high on these bikes now,I know I didn't get shorter but it's a sport bike why does it need to be so tall,I know I could get a Harley but I don't want to cruise"I feel the need for speed"

I think what you may want is a cruiser sport bike hybrid.

If you want new I agree with the Kawasaki above, however, I've sat on one of them and they tend to be pretty tall as well. If you want a full sport bike. but not the sore rump, My first bike was a 1996 Honda CBR600F3. The F3s were the last CBRs with carbs. Right now I'm driving a 2011 Yamaha V-Star 1300 Touring. That old F3 was more comfortable then then the cruiser I ride now. The later F4 models got fuel injection, but the seats weren't as nice.

I atually think the Suzuki SV650 or SV1000 would be a good compromise too.

That looks like the bike my son had. His back brake locked up wile driving down the road at 40mph and caused him to crash. Two years later he gets a letter from Kawasaki telling him there was a problem with the rear brakes on his bike that road debris like rocks or pebbles could jam the rear brake causing loss of control and possible crash and injuries including death. He was lucky he only suffered a mild concussion because when he wrecked he was thrown clear of the bike into a freshly plowed field. The bike was a total loss.

Yea. They sit like that for track handling. Do not lower the bike. It really messes with the handling. Thicker boots or shave the seat. If your really skinny you can swap the springs out. Try a GSX-R. I'm pretty short and I found that bike fit me the best. I had a 07. I had a really bad wreck this may and can't ride anymore but I would recomend One of them if you need a sport bike. At least go and try all the makes and see which one fits best.

I had a 2009 Gladius (SV650F) between the Honda and my current bike. They really great handling bikes with good lowend torque, but they don't have the speed of the inline sport bikes. They're a little like riding a light dirt bike. They're really fun and easy to toss around in the corners, but no juice for any kind of straights. Suzuki, also, drop the line-up in the U.S. I think 2010 was the last year for all their V-twin SV bikes.

Get a new Ninja 1000 problem solved. Its a Sport bike but not a super sport bike. More of an upright riding positon and still handles great and hauls A$$. /Thread.

No the bike was long gone. All he had was the pictures. No way to really prove now that it was caused by the problem they sent the letter about. But by the description of what my son gave and the fact it was a straight section of roadway then seeing that back tire that's the conclusion we came up with.

Try a Kawasaki Z1000. The seat is thinner. It's a very nice bike.
