Biggest problem of the new Corvette..

.. when you're cruising on the freeway in 7th gear - this is the most boring part of your drive - when you're not actually driving beyond making the odd steering adjustment.

This moment (much like how a commercial airline pilot has the second most boring job after a security guard once he's in the air in cruise mode), the least eventful moment - the engine switches to a 4 banger and the last bit of entertainment is ripped violently from you - that beautiful V8 sound is gone.

At least they addressed the drone this time. Pretty simple intricately complex fix. Add a valve before the muffler. Who knew that would fix it?

Obviously GM hasn't been listening to the Camaro crowd about AFM!!!!

Again tuning will void the warranty so most won't risk it.

All things we have complained about for years.

They addressed the drone on the C7. There is a valve before the muffler that changes the exhaust tuning to stop the drone. I am curious as to how well it works but its a start.

Honestly being able to be in a 7th gear running on 4 cylinders sounds amazing to me. I like my highway cruising to be quiet and efficient. My V6 does this extremely well and it seems like the C7 will do it even better.

An additional gear allows for more aggressive gearing down low. Should be interesting to see.

There are just a few things that they must listen to the government in regards to. Fuel economy being one. Also, the majority of people don't really notice the AFM, and this gives GM another chance to advertise the car by claiming as the most fuel efficient supercar.
