Lighted Door Sill Modification
So, got those Sills in and decided that I don't like them the way they are.
Don't get me wrong, they look great but I didn't want to install them with this huge gap 1/8"+ to the door sill. That is due to the light fixture installed in them, as it is a plexiglass strip with 4 LED's installed. That's why the double tape is this thick to clear the heights of the light. I then decided to rip them apart, covered the top side with masking tape and cut out the letters. I bought a set of EL Tape, 12"x1.25" in blue, as I like them to be blue, but they come in other colors too. The good part is, they are only 1/64th of an inch thick. Here is your chance to change the color of them. Here is the link to the strips I bought. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI...r=650062734749 I then taped them in place with electrical tape on the underside of the sill. Then, I transfered the little pieces from the letters over to my EL Panels with Super Glue and applied several layers of clear coat on top of them. Let dry, applied some more coats, let dry. Then I lit them up. I think they look just like original ones. And here is the final product, ready for installation today. Any questions, ask.

It looks good but I have concerns.
It looks like, to me, that you will be getting dirt and all kinds of small debris in those letter gaps(from the top). is this true? Thx!
