Lightbulb Brainstorm: Let's Make Something Crazy

Let's say I want to make a car that is barely street legal. Just for the sake of argument, there is no money limit. The only conditions are that the car has to be built by GM and I can only use the ZZ570/720R GM motor.

You can pick any GM car, and use any other performance parts. What would you build? Discuss.

This sounds like a thread Spike should be all over......

Don't know what I'd be doing, but I know in which car it would be going in.

a second gen. Preferably, early 1970-1973.

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

Hehe... a 572 powered RWD Cobalt. Stripped right down.

But i always figured it would be sweet to slap the 572 into a 91-96 Caprice. That'll make that car fly!! lol

I'd make mine a total sleeper.

1957 Chevrolet Nomad

Completely restored from bumper to bumper...except for the 572 in the front, I forgot about that

Lets load that baby in a Chevette... keep the rust on the bodywork and the donut spare on the passenger side rear. Keep the crack in the windshield too... i want this one to be a sleeper.

when you say I can use any other performance parts.... does that mean I can change the pistons, rotating assy, heads, cam, intake, carb?

just want to make sure I understand the rules before I start playing....

The idea is to use the stock motor, but you can slap stuff on it. Bolt-ons are welcome, and weak forced induction is also allowed.
