Why wouldn't you have your mom call and check on the insurance the 4th gen was what you really wanted instead of settling??

Sounds like a nice first car to me, you should be happy to have something new like an Avenger. Most kids get something at least 20 years old for their first vehicle.

Be happy. "Nicer" things can come later.

I agree, I started with a 91' honda prelude them moved on to bagged s10, 04 gto's and now ss camaros haha. Whats next vettes???? Also never buy a nice car when u start driving, buy something cheap but treat it like gold. Clean it. Modify it. Love it, because the habits you start when you are a young driver carry on for the rest of your life. If you grow up and dog all your vehicles, let the rain wash the dirt away and hop curbs then thats what you will do to the rest of the cars that you'll own. Dont do that!!!! Take care of your car and it will take care of you ;-)

My kids started on a Corsica, and a Tempo. Both cars ended up worse for the experience, but not from the kids. Parking in school lots with 300 new drivers proves to be a poor enviroment for nice cars. Your time will come, be patient.

Sorry about your misfortune. Dodge Avengers, not very good cars from what some people I know who drive them have told me. (These are 2005 and 2002 models they drive.)

I started on a '92 Ford Taurus in 1996. There will be plenty of time for much cooler cars man.

I had a V6 4th gen when I was that age, don't recall any insurance issues at the time.
