Parking in two spots - Human resourses protest

Here is the story behind what is happening.

Yesterday I came into work to see a black Cadillac SUV was parked in two spots, directly in the middle, over the white line. It came up in discussion amongst several employees. So today we come into work to find once again the SUV parked in two spots.

I sent an email to HR to complain because its being done right in front of the main entrance. I get an email back from the HR lady that it is her SUV.

So am I wrong to rally together employees for Monday that if she once again is covering two spots that everyone can park in two spots?

Thoughts...

Unless they are reserved spots just get there earlier than she does and park in one of the spots she is using normally. That will force her to have to park elsewhere at least.

I would take a piece of chalk, outline a box around her SUV, and write a "parking spot just for you!"

I've seen that done before on here.

Note: I'm not responsible if that gets you in hot water. lol

The bad thing is that people with that "power" feel that it is OK for them, but not for you. If you can get in touch with the Plant Manager if you have one, bend his ear for a while and see if it gets you any results. I had a dealing like that many years ago, and the company got so tired of her antics, they fired her.

That's a good one! Getting the message across without doing any damage. I like it!

Edit: Have to agree that it may not be worth it in this case...

When you see someone doing something obnoxious, you should just let them keep doing it.

I would not burn any bridges at work or do something to add extra stress over the parking thing.

Just leave the HR lady alone. It's not worth it.

We get tickets at my job for illegal parking. She does not have the right to block 2 spaces. The Building manager should have the authority to address this problem.

Take 2 spots yourself right next to her, and see if she likes it.

You and a buddy go buy motorcycles and park them in the half spaces on either side of her vehicle.

Or everyone should just "double park" in the same manner as her rendering her attempt useless. Basically if everyone parked double the lot would only lose the side spots and she'll look like a fool, especially if it was documented.

Get everyone you talked to together, and everyone take two parking spots.

Save your email when it is brought up, and say it's OK according to HR.

I totally agree with the go-over-her-head. As HR, she should know better.

I work in a place with a few hundred people. Our parking lot can be and has been maxed out depending on the day. Rude parkers are dealt with, up to and including towing.
