GoPro cameras : How did you mount yours?
I finally snapped and bought the GoPro Hero and the telescoping car mount. I wanted to mount it inside, but found the distance between the dash and the windshield is too little to mount it.
Is there another mount that I didn't see? Maybe a way to hang from the rear view mirror? How'd you all mount yours? |

Suction cup mounts on the rear 1/4 panels, roof, and on the back of the trunk below the spoiler. If the car had a cage I would use a mount inside on the cross bar as well.

The suction cup sticks pretty good to the tach on the dash. I mounted mine to my front lisence in this video: Palm Springs (up hill)

I have to ask where did you buy your gopro camera?? I have actually been contemplating this camera myself recently! Did you get it online?? How are you finding its quality to be like? Is it worth the money for the quality of footage it can produce? Any small review would be amazing!!

Overstock.com sometimes has nice deals on them. For what it is, the quality is excellent, look on youtube. The lens is a little wide for my taste, other then that no complaints.

Got mine at a military exchange. It runs about $40 cheaper on base then it does on the outside.
Get the Hero2 though. It's HD, the old Hero isn't. |

Got mine at the base exchange also.
I've only used it once so far and mounted outside of the roof of the car using the suction cup as seen in this photo (the RJT). This way, I could just stick my hand out the sunroof and turn it on since I don't have the one that is controlled by a cell phone. If I could do it over again, I would by the cell phone controlled one. I will be playing with mounting techniques for sure. Here's the video:

I've had mine on the outside front windshield of my Gen5 at the drag strip, on remote controlled airplanes and on my Turbo Hayabusa at over 155MPH the suction has worked great for me. check out some the videos here:
