New guy and First Camaro

Aloha to all,

So today I just picked up my new 2012 2SS 45th Camaro. I'm a stickler for stick so I had to get it with the Hurst shifter. Also living in Texas pretty much requires me to at least have a sunroof (since I'm not a fan of convertibles).

This is actually a few firsts for me. First Camaro, first American car, first NEW car. Being 28 I've only ever purchased used before so this is awesome (that and I haven't had air conditioning in the past several years).

For existing owners, here is a quick one. What would be the best way to initially protect/seal the exterior? I've never had a vehicle with decals before so I'm not sure what would be best. Ming finish, wax block...?

Matt, what part of Texas are you in? and we have a whole section on detaining and protecting your cars finsih, check it out here..... http://www.camaro5.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=45

oh and BTW.....CONGRATS on the new ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

I'm down in San Antonio, so we have rather intense sun rays here. I've been customizing the phone and radio settings along with just driving around the city all day in between BBQing with the family. Night driving is just effing sexy in this car. I'll get some stuff with it up at the end of the week after first wax and such. Have a good one all.

Matt, there is a huge contingent of C5 members here, and they do a lot of things together in SA, so check out the TEXAS section of the site for things going on in SA.
