Out with the new, in with the old?

It was a bitter-sweet day trading in my 2011 RJT 1SS, but for many different reasons we needed a different vehicle.

I am now the proud owner of a 2008 G8GT

Got a great deal on it, and they gave me what I owed on the Camaro, so it was a win-win situation.

Now I gotta get to modding!

I wanted a G8 so bad when they first came out, but my need for a manual transmission was the only thing that stopped me.

Congrats!

I was looking at a G8 GT for quite a while.

Coming from '99 Grand Prix, I really wanted one of these. The back seat room is huge! Kids can play soccer back there. Interiors are nice and plenty of space.

Also, they are in high demand. Every time I tried to snatch a black GT, someone took it the same day. I was uber frustrated!

Even though I have a mint condition Camaro 2LT/RS, I still look in the back of a G8 to see if it’s a GT and thinking what if I threw the supercharger on? 20” tires. Oh well.

- How's the power? When I test drove one, I was really disappointed. When I floored it, I thought “is this what all the fuss is about??” The dealer made it worse by having me test drive a genesis, which felt more responsive and structurally sound.

- How's the mpg? This was something I was worried about. "Eh" power + poor MPG wasn't something I wanted. But it looked good. J

I can guess what the needs were and you went with a great choice. And yes, mod it.

Thanks all!

The power is pretty good actually. I did test drive a few and was disapointed, but this one scoots! Obviously not as much power as my tuned SS was... but still puts a smile on my face.

When I reset the mpg log yesterday, I've done both city and highway driving, but not really getting on it much, and it currently reads 21.5mpg. I can notice the AFM kick in on the highway, but it doesnt seem like it's too anoying.

I was looking for a G8GT for a long time and always missed out. After I gave up, a dealer called me back and ended up getting the Camaro instead for some reason. When I was talking to the sales guy this past monday about the G8, two other people came in and wanted it too! So I made sure I left a deposit that day.

I think I can salvage some piping from my 4" intake I pieced together for the Camaro, and build another custom intake for this. I just might need one more 45* pipe.

And my Predator works with this V8 too!

I almost bought a white one in '09 when they had killer deals on them. Ended up deciding to go elsewhere but those are sweet cars!
