Hennessey Venom

I was looking around online, and I found thishttp://www.autoblog.com/2007/11/19/h...s-on-venom-gt/
Short version, they took a page out of Saleens book and are considering building an equiv of the S7 but using a turbo charged viper V-10 that makes 1000 hp. And this is mid mounted in a 2700 lb car. All I can say, is holy f'in shid!

That picture def. isn't the real thing...so is this vehicle real? If so....
Hennesey rivals Ligenfelter when it comes to these Super-supercars. Unlike Saleen I respect them for it.

The Ligenfelter Vette was right behind them, though

"The Veyron is an ultra fast and ultra luxurious grand touring car which also happens to be quicker and faster than any other road car, except for our Venom 1000 Twin Turbo SRT which beat the Veyron earlier this year from 0-200 mph. "

i laugh at how they brag about that. granted they did get to 200mph faster, but what is the top speed of their venom 1000? i could find you a car that's barely street legal that can do 200mph faster than they can.

Wonder if any GM aftermarket shop is thinking about making a 1000 hp supercar. Its too bad that most supercars have nearly the same shape because of aerodynamics. Then again, few people buy them because the styling

Ah, the power of the Chevy small block. I had a co-worker oveer the summer who swears by Japanesse cars. He was telling me that his neighbor (who has a 4th gen) was talking about eventually making 1000 hp in his car. My co-worker just couldn't believe that this was possible, thought the other guy was making things up and asked me how it could be done. I believe my answer was something along the lines of "bore it, stroke it, then add an intercooled turbocharger/supercharger kit". He looked at me as if I was from another planet.

*note, that could bring an LS1 up to 1000 hp if you used the right parts right? or was I being an idiot? I don't know what sort of power gains are possible from such work or how much is needed to make all that suff work together. I know that it would not be cheap to do in any event

The LS1's can't be bored very much at all to any achieve any safe, noticeable power gains. Mostly due to the design of the pressed in cyllinder walls.

But, yeah. I can easily imagine stroking it, forging the internals, and then slapping on an I/C Supercharger. 1000 hp is easy. The only trouble he would have is with the stock aluminum block itself, and the end caps... They just can't handle that sort of power. BUT, billet end-caps and use of the LS1 Iron block can fix that If I had to guess...it'd prolly come to 25 to 30k to put together a quality motor like that.

:pYou weren't being stupid, it's more than possible. Ricers just can't grasp that concept.....
