Car and Driver Goes for Ride in 2013 GT500

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...pe-ride-review

What do you guys think? It seems like good competition for the ZL1. I'm surprised no one posted this yet!

This is a Camaro site not a Mustang site. However, the Car & Driver ride along in the 2013 GT500 has already been discussed quite extensively here.

New Mustang GT500 commercial:

...... cool visual effects. Not bad but the ZL1 still looks meaner!

Best thing about that commercial was the woman at the beginning.

She looked like a man.

Ford shouldn't suggest such lame modifications to Mustang's...Disappointing.

Well what I get out of this that it's 60g's without the coolers [ track pack ] with them most likely 65g's and with the coolers you also increase the weight more closer to the ZL1...with that being said theirs the much more superior suspension of the ZL1 witch will certainly be more than GT500 can match. Then if the GT can't hook up with it's usable power it won't be able to top the ZL1...and not many will take it to the strip enough to warrant buying D.R. and the stock tires won't be able to use all that power stoplite to stoplite...Hopefully

And what I got out of THAT catastrophe was next to nothing.

The magazine guessed it was 60,000 dollars base, and that by adding a couple coolers the car is going to weigh close to what the ZL1 weighs.

Also, there aren't going to be enough GT500 owners going to the strip to buy DR's.....wierd..also...stoplite?

I enjoyed the article, just like I've enjoyed the majority of the ZL1 articles, the difference is, I don't walk out of reading those artilces spouting off random garbage.

Yeah but we post ZL1 stuff in the Shelby Forums on various Mustang sites. It's good to know what the competition is doing.

The fact that the shelby can hit 60mph in 1st gear is huge...remember the current Z06 can do this and explains why its acceleration figures are so impressive. As most assume I expect 0-60mph around 3.7 sec for the new shelby and 11.8 in the quarter mile. With that said I think the ZL1 is a better overall package and will be cheaper than the shelby and is fully warrantied

you should research your topic at least a little before you post.
