So what to do with gas going north of 4 bucks?? NOT A COMPLAINT ABOUT GAS PRICES

I know Im not the smartest guy on the block, but I have out dumbed myself. I traded my economical, 24+ MPG, quiet little ole 1LT vert for a not so economical and much throatier SS RS vert. My car is a DD, about 80 miles a day, so the trade makes no sense to anyone but me. While the V6 had more than enough power and great fuel economy, it just sounded wrong to me. Im a V8 guy and I love the sound of the V8, even on moderate acceleration. I have the deepest respect for the V6, but it just wasnt for me. My wife just smiled and said "guy thing". Not really, just a generational thing. Bye the way, most folks wont even know I traded, new vert is same color and stripes as old one. Ill post a pics when I pick her up friday.......Larry

You only live once. If the V8 sound trips your trigger, by all means enjoy your SS! Don't let the price of gas worry you, everything's going up. Just shut off the premium channels and you're good to go. Don't let the curmudgeons get to ya. They'd gripe if you hung them with new rope.

Doesn't stop me....I was driving my 13mpg truck 70 miles a day when gas was 4.50. Gotta anticipate when buying that gas will go up.

Have your morning cereal with water instead of milk and you will have saved more than enough to make up the difference. Now you can feel better and go enjoy your new ride.

Congrats on the new ride and may that V8 rumble make your heart pound a little harder and your cheeks hurt a little more from smiling! Even though I know the gas comment was tongue in cheek, you may be surprised at how good your gas mileage may be with the SS on a commute like yours.

Is that 80miles all highway? Depending on whether you
have a auto or stick on your new SS you'll have AFM so you will actually get good gas mileage.
I don't have an SS so I don't know the actual MPG but from what I read on here
it's not that bad.

Congrats on the new arrival... Enjoy that beast and don't let the b********s get you down.... Post up some pics when they are available... Light the fires, smoke the tires and enjoy...

For the rest of you... This thread has nothing to do with the price of gas... It has to do with the pending arrival of his new SS... get a grip, leave the political comments out of it and let the man share info about his decision...
