What do you recall from your dreams? Some folks say they don't remember their nocturnal reveries. I don't believe that could be as common as claimed. Most of 'em are just holdin' out on sharing their thoughts for one reason or another.
I, for one, admit that I remember my dreams every night. Most of you do as well, be honest. Let's tell what we'd like to tell about it. If you're uncomfortable, just wade in when you feel cool relating those thoughts. ![]() Here, I'll start. I was looking at my wife's face. Her eyes were green and textured like moss (in reality, her peepers are light blue) the more I gazed in the deeper I saw. It was like viewing an aquatic world inside her head. A small koi (those Japanese bred gold fish that are orange, white and black) swam toward the front of her ocular opening, as it turned towards the front, I could see that its entire frontal portion, where its mouth, eyes and gills would regularly be, was instead another eye entirely. It paused to stare at me through my wife's face. The alarum clock then sounded. Tell us about YOUR DREAMS, if you dare, don't be shy. |

Cool, I'll share mine:
For some reason, my dogs ran out of the house and were being wild out on the street. I ran out to get them and grabbed one of them by the collar and the other was starting to be a bit aggressive. The one that was being aggressive started to run away, so I put my foot in front of him. He somehow ran through my foot but got his hind legs stuck and he tumbled over and then started wimpering. I picked him up to comfort him and then my dream ended... Probably had something to do with me reading the 10 pet commandments thread yesterday. But at least it wasn't one of my usual "end of the world" dreams.

Oh yeah, all of us of an age to recall the nuclear war drills in school and at home as well as the Cuban Missile Crisis have the "Nuclear Armageddon Dream". Don't you hate it?
I have endured a myriad of sleeping variants on the theme, yet they are all basically similar. First comes the super bright flash of light, sometimes accompanied by a momentary x-ray vision effect which forces one to see the skeletons of everyone with you. Then one knows the real shit is gonna' come soon, so one looks for the best place to hunker down, in a basement or such like. Then the blast hits, knocking down everything above ground level, pretty much nothing is left intact. Trees and telephone poles are all set ablaze on their side facing the blast. Then one looks for survivors amongst the millions of dead and dying. ![]() Hella shit, huh?:( |

Dang....that's some crazy stuff. Although I must say, I wasn't around during the Cuban Missile Crisis. I vividly recall my dream though:
My family, girlfriend, and I went to a picnic table that was next to an old looking church. It seemed to be a cloudy day and there was some other people walking around. My g/f and I told my parents that we were going to go in the church for a bit. We looked around and then told my g/f that I was going to go back outside. When I came out, my mom told me, "Look, it's about to start". I then looked up and saw a UFO looking thing start to hover above us. It released a light which shot down into the ground and the next thing I knew, it caused a great explosion. I remember that I flew into the air and went unconscious. When I came to, I was sitting on top of a mountain and I looked around but everything was scorched and the sky was a dark red. I started crying and told myself, "I'm all alone, everyone's gone." I sat for what seemed like a while and then eventually I saw some people walking. I saw an old high school friend and I asked him, "What are you doing?" He said, "We're all going over here." I decided to follow them and ended up on the shore line and then the sky turned blue. A few people were there and I looked around to see who was there. Eventually, I spotted my family and g/f and my dream ended.

Suddenly bein' miles away.
Your nuke type dream has a hopeful ending, that's unusual, as far as my small research into the matter has gone just by askin' various folk over the years, or them volunteering their dreams to me.
I've often had dreams in which I am in an ambiguous rôle of being both student at my own high school while also being a teacher there. My age in the dream is around thirty (younger than my actual 57 years), and I KNOW I'm too old to be a student. I never enter a classroom; my dream takes me through the walls of the building and up overhead, farther than 30 meters, and there I ask myself why am I not down below. When my descent is complete, I am in East Oakland, about fifteen miles from Berkeley High School. I am then confronted with the difficulty of walking or finding my way by hitch-hiking back to Berkeley. Then I wake up. I call this the "Getting Far from Home Dream". |

Last night I dreamed that my g/f and I were sitting in what looked like a church (because of the pews we were sitting on). But I guess we were getting ready to watch a movie, so then the seats changed to regular movie theatre seats. The person in front of us had a child that was making some noises and somebody to their right told them to keep their kid quiet. The dad stood up and told him off, so the other guy got in front of him to argue. The dad pushed the guy and they started to wrestle a bit. Eventually they let go and the dad walked to the end of the row and walked back a few rows. He stood there and then another person came up to the dad, and swung a mean right-hook that connected right on the chin. The impact was really loud and the dad fell to the ground with that other dude continuing to swing. The brawl eventually got bigger and then my dream ended.
"Mayhem dream"?

Ex-Fiance
The other night I had a dream that my ex-fiance showed up in. He played a pretty big role in it.
I wasn't think about him before I went to bed. Of course in it he had to have a better car than I had, and rubbed it in my face. It was almost like we were best friends despite everything that happened, and we just picked on each other like that. I don't get it. He pops up from time to time. It's been like 8 years since I left.

Your dreams tell you about yourself to some degree although it may be very weak in its value to you. One has dreams that are more insistent from time to time, and others that follow a similar pattern repeatedly over a long period.
I have dreams in which I am trying to sleep, but not succeeding, and then coming to realize, in that dream, that I am actually asleep. I KNOW that I am asleep because I am aware that the bed in which I am tossing and turning while unable to sleep is not the one in which I am actually sleeping. At that point, I am fully aware that I am sleeping, and that I am IN COMMAND OF MY DREAM. Hot damn! If I can sustain it for long enough, the sky is the limit for fantasy. Flying, romance, you name it. ![]() Have any of y'all had that experience? It's called "vivid dreaming." |

Is it something similar to astral projection? The thought of not being able to come back scares the life outta me!

You're just dreaming; none of this is for real, except my words, so hearken closely.I dreamed I was in the 18th Century. There was a great battle about to take place. My uniform was that of a junior officer in the French Grenadiers. A British spy had been captured by our pickets. He was brought before me for interrogation and translation (it seems that I was the only French officer who could also speak English). The information he had gathered on our deployment of artillery was erroneous, so I ordered him released in an apparent escape in order that he would return to his handlers and thus mislead them. Things were not as they seemed. My uniform was made of soft flannel, not the hard woven wool one would expect. The entire camp of soldiers was completely silent. Then I awakened... |

Last night I dreamed that I was at my old house. I woke up and turned on the TV and looked around to see what I could wear for the day. /dream
Being in my old house seems to be a recurring topic for me. We moved to our new house almost 9 years ago

Many of us dream of former homes or towns in which we lived. There is also commonly a twist in that the streets you knew are, in the dream, leading somewhere farther than they really do and/or there are parts to them that you've never seen.
I often dream about the hill upon which I lived in Berkeley, CA being MUCH closer to the Bay, which one can see in the distance. In the dream, the waves are crashing just below the steep drop-off at the end of the backyard. |

Hmmm, in all my former home dreams, I'm always doing something inside and don't recall looking outside or bothering to go outside. I'll try to pay extra close attention next time.
Another recurring topic of mine is encounters with Satan/Lucifer...

had a dream last night. i was on a small piece of wooden board, just off the shore. big storm coming in, and i'm throwing pieces of sandwiches into the water. next thing i know, a beautifal marlin comes up out of the water, eating the sandwich pieces. I turn and there are two people telling me to jump and get back on shore. So I do, and I make it back on shore.
Next thing i know, me and two friends (no clue who they are) are all talking about picking up some ladies to take back to a really nice hotel room. for some reason, i stay in the hotel room, the other two go out. Next thing i know, there's a gorgeous blonde at the door. one thing led to another. no need to get into detail. talk about irony in the same dream, aye?
