New NHL Conferences for Next Season
As shown on NHL.com, there will be 4 conferences instead of the normal 2, starting next season...
What do you think about this? Discuss.

haha I see it now, personally not a fan of it, I'm guessing they want to take 4 teams from eaech conference for the playoffs? then do top vs bottom conference and 2 middle conference winners against each other? then 2 winners for the cup? I got a little confused by it, but then again I didnt read a lot of detail on it

this was actually easier than typing it haha. basically top 4 from each conference. top 2 of each conference face each other, winner of that goes to final. picture should help. this is how i THINK it'll work

Yeah that's what I figured, makes sense. I like the old way though... theres much more possibilities for who you getmatched up with in the first round, rather than playing the same couple teams year after year

well im just glad they didnt go with what they were gonna do. i really didnt want detroit in the eastern conference. i live in southern indiana so they come to st louis and nashville quite a bit so i get to see them. would have stopped if they went east. it'll be different thats for sure

The only thing that really makes me sad being a Canuck fan is nipping the Canucks/Blackhawks rivalry in the bud just when it was starting to get really good. Overall I think the reorganization is a good thing. Conference A is going to be brutal to come out of though... lots of talented teams in Conf A.

did you see conference D? thats like the death conference. Rangers, Flyers, Penguins, and Capitals. when i look at A i see Canucks, Sharks, and Coyotes. 3 good teams yeah, maybe not so much this season, but D has the better ones. except neither have THE best *cough* Red Wings *cough*
