Here is mine. My son and I are rebuilding it for his first car. 1985 Nissan 300 ZX. We have already pulled the engine and rebuilt it. Same with Transmission. Now we are on to body work. I am renting a paint booth and he is going to paint it himself. He now knows what 40, 80, 180, 400 and 1000 grit sand paper are.

The cool thing about this car is it was mom's first new car, and now will be his.

I highly recommend every dad do this with their son!

Body panels and hood are steel. The bumper is some kind of plastic, and I have no idea how to prepare it for paint. I am going to start researching that soon.

I guess it is time to do my research. I found a few good sites. I bet someone that is an expert will come along, but in the meantime try these sites:

I've read sand to the factory primer. With my flexible bumper, I have to path a crack in it. I also have to repaint a hood and fender. Conveniently I believe all 3 are different materials.

Well considering it came from Michigan and the only panels rusted out were the floor boards id say it was pretty solid lol. Still have all the original part 95% of which are in good enough shape to be reused probably goin resto on this on instead of modding it,

have several at this moment. 1972 camaro ss it is powered by a 773hp 406 backed by a lmr built t56 6 speed. it just got painted last week so its in progress. the next car is a 1993 z28 powered by a 550rwhp built gm ls6 motor with a 150 hp shot of nitrous. the last is my 2010 2ssrs m6. it has a few bolt ons with a blower grind cam awaiting the whipple supercharger. its a blast having 3 camaros but it also has its drawbacks.

which one do i drive today?
