I really like this.
It's a bit Volt/Camaro inspired at the front end, but there's nothing wrong with that. Hope it's not a repost.

Mmm, can't really see any "Chevelle" heritage. In other words, when I look at it I don't think-- Chevelle, maybe that's because it's more volt/camaro.
The year the artist is drawing from matters as well...![]() ![]() |

I agree with Eisenhower (btw, I'm related to the Eisenhower that was President/Supreme Allied Commander, which is the greatest job title in all of history, I might add). I really don't see the heritage either, or even the general spirit behind it (powerful midsize cruiser.) Basically it just screams restyled Camaro to me. I know this will cause outrage, but I think any modern incarnation of the spirit of the Chevelle will likely be a sedan.

Always did love that concept. The new one above would look great as a low slung 4 door, or estate/station wagon.

I'd rather have a more raised roof, that looks too sleek. And make the front window a bit more vertical. then flatten the nose a tad. The main body lines looks nice (fenders, back end, etc). Overall not bad, but to call that a chevelle is well . . . like calling those pontiacs GTO's. Some adjustments and you'd have a really hot car

May be calling it a new Chevelle is a mistake then as the nameplate carries too much baggage.
You'll have to forgive me, as a Brit, the Chevelle doesn't mean much to me and I don't think I've ever seen one in the UK (that's not to say there aren't any over here though!). I still reckon though, that if that front end could be grafted onto the new Pontiac G8/Holden Commodore 4-door platform, it would look great. Whilst I like the G8 and it's sister cars, they are still upright saloons. I'd love to see a modern muscle saloon that a little more sleek and coupe like. Think Merc CLS low cut roofline, or even the Chrysler 300c/Dodge Magnum.

The Chevrolet 'SS' concept was never considered as a "new Chevelle".
Here is a rendering of a "Chevelle" I saw at Carlisle a few years back, done by an aftermarket company; ![]() ![]() ![]()

that looks like a modern chevelle. lets face it, when you think of a chevelle you think of a red with black stripes 1970 SS with the 454, right?
While on chevelles, there are 3 in my family. my brother has a green 69, and my cousin has a red and black SS coupe plus a blue convertible, unknown year or trim.

Sorry, meant the one I posted shouldn't be called a Chevelle concept. I like the one you've posted, although the front's only so-so.

Ed summed it up. I saw that drawing and immediately knew Chevy SS. I just finished looking at tons of pictures of that red one in Detroit.

I really don't like how "bubbley" or round they made both the 'SS' and the SSR...
