New from outside Philly

Hi all - I have been a lurker on this site because I am trying to do my homework before I purchase. Have been looking and looking and just can't find exactly what I want, so I am considering buying and adding on. I'd like to post to the members to get their opinion of what my current options are - but not sure where to put it and don't want to get a bunch of people pissed for stupid questions right off the bat. So, if you have any ideas where I should ask owner's opinions about being worried about high mileage, adding on options, is this too much to pay, etc. please let me know! Any help would be appreciated - until then maybe I'll just hang out

Questions in case someone reads this.....

OK just gonna put my questions out there and see if some seasoned Camaro5 person checks it out. Here are the options of cars I can find. I want a V6 (I know I know) due to insurance and miles I drive. Doesn't seem to be many out there for sale in my area. Don't care for the LT1 wheels, but figure I can add on the steering wheel radio contro, spoiler, l and gauge cluster. No leather is OK. Automatic preferred - I'm lazy up here in PA. Sunroof - gotta have for when I go back to FL

Found:

ABM with 40K miles. Should I be concerned with such high miles? I realize this is a rare color. Has the LT1 rims so will have to upgrade that and add controls, spoiler and gauges. Would like rally stripes. $19K

Summit white, 14K miles. Same as above but with the 19" rims. Needs all the same stuff. $24K but certified preowned Chevy.

Imperial Blue LT2/RS. 12K miles. Nothing to add. Ugly white stripe on it must go. $25,500. Nice but not crazy about the color (sorry!)

Thanks -

Go Phillies! Wish I could meet ya there! Oh BTW -

ABM - with the high miles, there of course are some chips/scratches. Nothing too major. And license plate on the front, so hoping it can be taken off and filled in. Guessing they can take that off, fix the scratches, and put on the black rally stripes for a pretty penny. I am a fool for a project.

Summit white - looks like the plastic part of the car is a different color than the rest of the car - slightly yellowing. Gas door and bottom part. Not hugely noticible but wondering about it and realize its not going to get any better

It would be easier to change the wheels than to add all the other options you listed. while 40k is a lot of miles for a car that new, it really isn't a lot of miles. if you can get it for the right price you would surely save a ton of money over one with normal miles.

He wants $19K. Cheapest by far and aqua blue metallic which seems like a sought after color. It does need new tires so that would have to happen anyway. Owner drives 90 miles rountrip to work each day.

Hi Melissa, and welcome!

Of the options you posted, the ABM and IBM are certainly the prettiest. I'd go for the lower mileage of the two (and IBM really is beautiful in the sunlight; I own one) plus it's fully loaded-- but for that price you could really almost get a brand new one. Are these 2011s or 2010s you have found?

That ABM May be an '09 build/in-service...so 20,000 miles a year is not THAT bad...above average...but you know it is mostly highway.
