Talking Hennessey Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca: 0-60 in 3.9 1/4 mi in 11.9

Hennessey supercharges Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca

Having a drag strip behind your office would be both a wonderful play thing and an unyielding distraction. Hennessey Performance Design has such a delightful strip of attention-destroying asphalt at its disposal, and it uses this quarter-mile test track to examine the straight-line acceleration of its latest products. The most recent vehicle to run down this stretch is the Hennessey-tuned Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca.

According to Hennessey, the supercharged engine of this Boss 302 pumps out 650 horsepower. That's enough scoot to push the car from 0-60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds, and on down the strip in 11.9 seconds with a trap speed of 124 miles per hour.

Not feeling the red stripes on the silver...loved the orange with the black though.

VERY Impressive numbers! Cool car!

Cool car, senseless video though. Why in the hell would anyone keep stock tires on a car making 650 hp?? The way that guy had to roll that thing through the lights....

Don't care how fast it is. It looks like someone drank a bunch of kool-aid and then threw up on the car...

I know this company puts out a good product, but why do they not follow simple safety guidelines?

The first time I saw Hennessey fail at safety was when they had to have 2 guys sit in the back of a Camaro to give it more traction on the dyno.

And now this?

I don't care how "Safe" you think your guys are, they're not. Step it up Hennessy. Don't let one of your employees get hurt because you failed at safety.

I am glad that I am not the only one who was pissed that the driver was not wearing safety equipment.

Who cares? Hennessey Performance Engineering is also Lonestar Raceway Management, so they can do whatever the hell they want there. Go buy yourself a track then you can run without safety equipment too . It's not like Mr. Hennessey told the driver, "if you put that helmet on you're fired!" Their lives, their track, their car, their choice.

Not real impressed with those times however have to consider the temp, etc...

Driver didn't shift aggressively and babied it on launch.

Yeah until OSHA gets a hold of a video and shuts them down for unsafe work environment practices. Also, since they are a "LEADER" in the aftermarket building of autos, is this the message they want to send to their clients or others that work with them? Maybe Mr. Hennessey should be a little more involved with his employee safety. It only takes one death or serious injury to shut him down for awhile and give his buisness a bad name in the industry.
A helmet and safety gear would cost under 1k. Shutting his buisness down could cost thousands or maybe a few million.

WELL considering HE and a number of their employee's are part of our Camaro Club.....you can bet that they will hear about it....it sets a BAD EXAMPLE for everybody. ESPECIALLY since one of my buds, racing at THAT TRACK, COMPLETLY TOTALLED his Camaro.....and if it weren't for the fact he had ALL REQIURED SAFETY EQUIPMENT on.....he may very well not be there today. considering he went over the wall and flipped.

SO you can bet they'll hear about it.

IF FACT..... I didn't wait to see one of them.....I just got off the phone with them......evidently whom ever was running the test.....wasn't using their head.

How the hell a 3?xx lb car with 650hp ONLY runs a 11.9 @ 124?? Ok i can kinda understand the ET becuase of lack of tire but the MPH is pretty weak...I have a 4400lb sedan with 420rwhp and trap 120...

Another thing, didnt a Boss run low 12's and 3.9 in stock form??
