I've played BF games, and am not a huge fan of the type of gameplay they do. I don't like respawn type shooters. I suppose that's still why I either play Counterstrike or sometimes COD in hardcore mode where when you die, you're dead until the mission ends.

They aren't comparable. Only thing similar is the FPS aspect. I'm getting both.

Modern Warfare 3 might as well be MW2.5, no where near enough new content on that game to justify me spending $60 on it. I much prefer a gaming company that takes 2 or 3 years in between games and comes up with newer, more innovative stuff every game than someone that churns out the same game with new 'features' every year.

Going with BF3. I like that if some sniper is pissing me off, I can hop in a tank and level the building he's hiding in.
I'll get MW3 used later on.
