It was staged. When they asked Clarkson whether it was staged his responded in his typical British dead-pan humor. British comedy doesn't always come off so well over here. What seems so obvious to a British audience is usually blurred over here. Sure does make us down south look like a bunch of ignent mountain folk. To clarify, I'm originally from New York.

Had to have been...ratings...

Of course, there are a few places in this country where it wouldn't matter if there was a huge camera crew and tons of others standing around... But, nope...not in this case.

I love top gear!
ive seen it before and i really dont like how they perceive america. Of all places they go to they go to some crappy places. Just made me kinda frustrated.

By the way there are many parts to that video. I think like 6 of em.

It's hilarious even if it was staged. Granted not everyone is ignent down there but there are quite a few stereotypical ones like the actors/actresses. By the way Jeepinmatt, I don't consider NC the south. The South is Miss, Bama, Georgia, and Louisianna. The Carolinas are beautiful and it's more of the midwest as they speak like the tennessee country western folk. Good people and beautiful countryside.

Even though they trash everything american, because they're jealous... I love that show.

There's a five part series about the Bugatti Veyron beating a plane from Italy to London. I never cared for that car until then...

Oh, you will be afterwords...even the interior has grown on me *screams*...and I was one of the first here to say it was crap!

If you go directly to Youtube, you can spend 45 minutes or so watching the entire 5-part segment. It is worth it.

I find it ironic that they trash American cars, then Hammond goes out and buys a '69 Charger haha.

My sis went to Chapel Hill, beautiful place. My favorite team to root against
