Heritage Grill: Does it need to be painted?
I just ordered a Heritage Grill from Gmparthouse. In searching the threads I am not able to come to a consensus on if it needs to be painted or not for protection?
I like the "mill" look and would like to leave it as is. I read a post were someone said it needed to be cleared to protect against fading. Then someone posted back that it would be fine. So what is the fact? Cheers K |

I couldn't tell you if it is a fact or not but I would certainly at least want it cleared.

I think it looks good either way. But, if you do paint it, you should clear coat it.

Clearcoat the entire grille if you paint it. Some shops mask of the center, paint and clear coat without unmasking until last

I put mine on without clearing it and i think it will be just fine. I tis not like it get beat down by sun 24/7. If it starts to fade you can always just take it off and paint it flat black or pasti dip it.
